adiZonesPark Leisure in partnership with The Great Outdoor Gym Company were commissioned by adidas to help get more young people into sport and physical activity as part of their sponsorship of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a leading brand, adidas required first-class innovation, excellent quality and fast delivery.
We designed, project managed, supplied and installed adiZones in the host Olympic boroughs. The bespoke adiZone design was inspired by sports of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The facilities include an outdoor gym compliant to European safety standards; basketball, football and taekwondo, judo, gymnastics, dance and aerobics. The design includes disability ramps and elements of the Inclusive Fitness Initiative guidelines. High profile launch events were covered by Sky Sports and BBC News. The adiZones were oficially opened by the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team, 400 metre gold medalist Christine Ohuruogu and the Great Britain Paralympic basketball team.
